2009: "You can keep your health insurance."
2010: "If you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance."
2011: "If you like your doctor, if you like your health insurance, you can keep them."
2012: "If you like your health insurance, you can keep it. PERIOD."
November 2013: "If you like your health insurance, you can keep it (for another year but you're stupid and we know better than you do what you need but yeah you can keep it you moron..)"

Preview: 2014 Schadenfreude

Next year, the proponents of ObamaCare will be blaming the EeeeEEEEeeeeeeVil Insurance Industry for not warning them that the 2013 fix would screw everything up. Auntie Nancy hates it when she's right.

Harry and Louise, Call Your Office!

And filed in Auntie Nancy's Cubbyhole of Endless Remembrance comes this gem. Remember Harry and Louise from way back in 1994? Remember? The thing that sank HillaryCare (which Bill was for before he was against it in the form of ObamaCare) was the devil in the details. So THIS time around, the details were carefully concealed. But hey, you have to pass bills to know what's in 'em, right?

Who could've seen this coming?! Who could have predicted?!

He Was Against Keeping Commitments Before He Was For It...

Since Bill Clinton knows all about keeping commitments (ahem...) he is clearly the gentleman to lecture the president on that subject.

http://swampland.time.com/2013/11/12/bill-clinton-says-obama-should-honor-you-can-keep-it-health-care-promise/

Bill Clinton was against keeping commitments--say the one about fidelity to his wife or the one about telling the truth--before he was for keeping commitments.

Oh, the delicious irony.

Just goes to show you: keep your enemies close, and your frenemies closer.

"Holy Schadenfreude, Batman! It's ObamaCare!"

Welcome to the blog home of Auntie Nancy's Cottage O'Schadenfreude, a place with plenty of room for regrets about the monstrosity now known to most of the media as "The Affordable Care Act" (because, you know, got to protect the Obama brand and all.)

Comes now into these hallowed halls Lori Gottleib, in a New York Times indictment of the "Smug Insureds"--her liberal friends who have not yet been raped and pillaged by the high, high cost of feel-good legislation:

Lori's friends alternately advise her to enjoy the benefit of her "free" sex change operation, marry the guy she's dating to get her greedy little uninsured mitts on his health provider network, or just to suck it up and shut it up because the pitchfork-carrying, mouth-breathing villagers might catch on that all is not well in Liberal Land.

Interestingly enough, Lori's more upset that her Facebook Friends aren't sympathetic than she is about paying a whole bunch more for a whole lot less. Auntie Nancy doesn't serve that kind of KoolAid, you know.
